LEAPS

Linear Elastic Analysis of Pavement Structures — multilayer elastic theory, multi-wheel loads, interface bonding, and live stress bulbs.

Plan view — top-down

The Field selector re-plots the two Field charts — the depth profile (sampled under the busiest wheel stations) and the surface response along the section line. The Fixed deflection basin and six-field grid are constant references.

Critical responses summarised per layer — maxima across all evaluated wheel stations. Stresses are tension-positive.

The engine

Multilayer elastic theory (Burmister) solved in Hankel-transform space — overflow-proof boundary conditions and near-exact surface responses.

Validation

A 69-check regression suite: Boussinesq closed forms, multilayer reduction, interface limits, equilibrium and Burmister factors. A subset runs at startup.

Conventions

Tension-positive stresses, z downward, deflection positive down. Uniform circular contacts; SI/US display, mm·N·MPa internally.
