The engine

Burmister multilayer elastic theory solved in Hankel-transform space, with overflow-proof boundary conditions and near-exact surface responses.

Three idealizations

The same total load as a concentrated force, spread along a line, or spread over a circular imprint, switched in one control, so Saint-Venant is something you watch rather than read about.

Conventions

Tension-positive stresses, z downward, deflection positive down, engineering shear strains, interfaces on a WinJULEA slip value. SI or English display, mm·N·MPa internally.
